New tunes: more hornpipes

New: hornpipe rhythm exercises

New page: Exercises

I've got a new page up that features very short exercises.  This is where you should go to get scale exercises, help learning to read sheet music, and exercises to help develop technique & ornaments that we have talked about in our crash course.

The first post features some very simple scale exercises in the key of G major.  I've indicated which fingers to use, and what string the note is on.  These are to be practiced using the jig rhythm introduced last night.  The bowing pattern is noted at the bottom - 1st time through, start on the down bow (hand is moving toward the floor), and using 1 note per bowstroke, your pattern will be DOWN-UP-DOWN  UP-DOWN-UP.

I will be adding one set of exercises like this each day, and there will be recordings that correspond to the notes on the page so you get some sense of what it should sound like.

I've put together a list of our course tunes, which you can access by following this link.

I'm gradually adding links to recordings & sheet music for each tune.  Bear with me here!
